What the Manufacturer Says

The RollerMouse PRO2 by Contour Designs is an innovative option to a computer mouse and is a remarkably simple solution. Its ergonomic design places cursor control just below the spacebar of any keyboard, making computer use faster, safer and more comfortable for right or left handed user. The RollerMouse PRO2 is controlled with the use of an unflexed hand,  so there is no need to clutch or hold the device in order to navigate the cursor. Your fingertips roll a narrow bar both up and down and from side to side to navigate the cursor over the entire screen, with very little friction or resistance. (Or the rollerbar can be controlled with the thumb or any finger of either hand to vary the task.)

The RollerMouse PRO2 provides single finger point and click functionality and an adjustable click force on the rollerbar (5 levels of tension) by using a simple knob under RollerMouse. The Roller Bar moves the cursor by sliding left to right, up and down, and diagonally. Pressing the Roller Bar performs single click operation. (The Rollerbar click function can be disabled by using a dip switch if the user prefers using buttons.) The Optical sensor reads bar movement using the latest technology, which means there is nothing to wear out. The RollerMouse PRO2 comes with a soft but firm jel palm support which is removable for easy cleaning.

Choose the click-force
A dial underneath RollerMouse Pro2 lets you choose between five levels of rollerbar click force. The dial can be rotated from a low to high setting. You can adapt and adjust the rollerbar click force, which may vary according to level of usage.
Tip: New users may like to start with a firm rollerbar click. Those familiar with RollerMouse may find using a lower click force faster.

End Detection
If your cursor cannot move further, simply slide the bar to the right or left until you hear a gentle click. This activates the end detection and the cursor can move anywhere on the screen.
Tip: If you're using multiple screens, the end detection function allows you to re-align the cursor position.

Cursor  Speed
With the flick of a switch underneath RollerMouse Pro2, you can change your cursor speed and level of precision from 750 dpi to 1250 dpi. The faster speed setting makes it easier to reach further with the same rollerbar movement.
Tip: New users may want to start with low cursor speed. Once familiar with RollerMouse, we recommend selecting a higher cursor speed.

It's hard to retrain yourself to scroll with one hand and click with another hand. It's difficult to click on the small icons with a touchy mouse. Overall, the product is good and seems to be working for the shoulder and elbow pain. However, dealing with the ever shrinking icons is difficult.
